Blog by Damon Shaw When I got into futsal four years ago, I never imagined I would be wheeling and dealing in the transfer market making last minute signings of players to bolster the team for the rest of the season and beyond. |

Akademia Futsal Club train almost every day, one of the benefits of being a professional club. We struggle to train once a week with every player there, and with only around 12-15 training sessions this season so far, we are well behind where we could be were we able to compensate players for their time. To train more than once a week would be a massive strain on players, the club and the staff involved, as well as the club's finances, which are more akin to a Sunday league team than a National League team. |

Cheesy, cliched title I know, but it is totally apt for what I want to write. And that is basically how far even unfancied countries such as Poland, Albania, Lithuania and Croatia are ahead of the game in England. It's not a criticism of the game at home, just an observation, and I think in the long run it can help the game develop if people know what is expected, and how things can be executed. |
